Reduce Signs of Aging - Face Lift Cost

Everyone ages, this is an inevitable course that anyone who is mortal has to suffer throughout their life and while this aging process cannot be stopped or reversed, it is possible to make it less apparent. One great way to reduce the visible signs of aging is by undergoing a face lift procedure. It is important to keep in mind though, that if you are planning on undergoing a facelift procedure that you seek a qualified and experienced face lift specialist to prevent any unsightly botches of the procedure.

As we all age, our skin begins to loose its elasticity and vitality we once had younger in life and as a result, wrinkles, folds and sagging skin starts to become apparent. It is at this point in life, more and more people are making their way to a plastic surgeon to hide these signs of the natural aging process through a facelift.

In all simplicity, the surgeon will make a series of incisions along the jaw line and around the earlobes. Then using an endoscope, the surgeon will ensure that the underlying tissue and muscle mass are in good condition and then repair or realign anything that is obviously out of place. The surgeon will then pull the skin taunt and sew up the incisions. Any extra skin left over is then removed and you are sent off to start your recovery period.

Unfortunately, no surgical procedure would be complete without the possibility of complications and risks. When it comes to a face lift though, there is the chance of unsightly scars, hematoma, seroma, infections, slow healing of the wounds, anesthetic allergies, hair loss and even nerve damage. Furthermore there is also the possibility of skin necrosis, numbness, asymmetry, skin irregularities and even discolorations of the skin.

Unfortunately for most people though, the face lift procedure is not covered by the insurance companies and the bill will be your responsibility. It is important to speak to your surgeon about financing options as there may be an in-house payment plan available to you. The reason financing is important is because a face lift can cost you anywhere from $7,000 all the way up to $13,000 for completion. Along with the face lift, there may also be some other related expenses as a means of creating facial symmetry after the completion of the procedure so make sure you completely discuss your expectations with your surgeon prior to agreeing to undergo the procedure.
