Restylane Injection Risks - Before After Pictures of Restylane and Facial Fillers
Restylane is a relatively new procedure used as an anti ageing therapy. It is dermal filler which gives shape to nasal labial folds, wrinkles and lines which are the bane of ageing process.
Restylane uses a hyaluronic gel which mimics the hyaluronic acid which is present in the human body; hence there is no fear or rejection by the body. This gel fills up the depressions caused by loss or looseness of collagen in the face. The wrinkles get smoothened, the lines get softer and there is an overall look of youth. Lips can be made fuller and youthful, crow’s feet can be eliminated, lines on the forehead and laugh lines can be controlled by using restylane. It has been approved by the FDA and is in use all over the world now.
As in any medical procedure there are certain risks associated with its use. Since restylane injections consists of injecting the gel into the body, the chances of bruising and redness at the site of the injections is there. There can be some pain or swelling or tenderness and itching. All this will subside by the use of some medication. These side effects last for a few hours and then the skin gets back to normal. Since the needles used are fine, only a local anesthesia need be used. The procedure takes just about an hour and the patient can resume normal work immediately. If there are some telltale signs of the procedure, like redness or tenderness or swelling, correct use of make up with the permission of the doctor will camouflage it.
Also all these side effects and risks associated with restylane should be discussed with the doctor beforehand so that the patient knows exactly what he is letting himself in for. He should have a realistic approach and know for certain what will take place, what can happen and if it does, what can be done. People with severe allergies or those with allergy to gram positive bacteria should not undergo this therapy. Pregnant or lactating women and others with skin problems should not go in for this treatment. Also restylane should not be used for breast augmentation or implantation into blood vessels as it may obstruct the blood flow.
Otherwise restylane is considered a very safe process with relatively less side effects or dangers. Botox, many creams and gels may also work to restore youthfulness. But restylane is considered more effective than any other and more and more people are going in for it. This is especially evident in those who do not want plastic surgery, facelifts and the like.
