Thigh Lift Recovery Period
The road to recovery for a thigh lift, while somewhat painful at first is relatively short depending on the amount of work that you have had performed along with the thigh lift. In most cases, the procedure can be performed in specialized out patient clinics and the patient is able to go home after only a couple hours but in some cases an over-night stay may be required but that depends on the complexity of the thigh lift procedure.
For starters, there will be some swelling and although the general concept is that you would think you need bed rest, the exact opposite is true of the thigh lift procedure. As soon as you feel as if you are capable it is highly suggested that you walk around to help reduce the amount of swelling as well as increase the recovery time. The pain associated with the surgery will only last for a couple days but luckily it should be easily handled through the use of prescriptions.
Within only a week, the stitches will be removed from the thighs that were put in place immediately following the thigh lift. There may bee some deep sutures involved in your thigh lift surgery and in the case that these are used, the deep sutures will remain for up to three weeks; all of which is determined by the surgeon in all their experience and wisdom. You will also be asked to take antibiotics to prevent infections as well as wearing some form of support garment to keep the swelling down as well as increasing the chances of a good outcome of the thigh lift procedure.
The general recovery is over fairly quickly, but unfortunately due to bruising and swelling in the thighs, the final results of the thigh lift procedure may not be 100% visible for at least a couple months.
