The growing popularity of the Restylane injection basically comes down to its ability to produce some of the best and safest results in the field. Restylane was originally released to the cosmetic industry back in the mid 90’s and was soon after approved by the American Food and Drug Administration as not only the first, but the only non-animal based filler available to the cosmetic industry. Unlike the other fillers available that are composed of an animal base, most of which their animal base is rooster comb, the Restylane filler has almost no chances of an allergic reaction in association with the treatment. These treatments fall at roughly 6 month intervals but as time progresses the distance between treatments increases and the amount of Restylane used in the injection decreases. This not only means that Restylane has some of the highest quality results but longest lasting as well since the six month period of results following a treatment is on average double that of any other filler currently available.
The Restylane injection incorporates hyaluronic acid which helps the body’s skin absorb the much needed moisture to achieve a youthful more vibrant look to it. Furthermore the results of a restylane injection can be seen almost instantaneously. Although there are some slight chances of side effects like bruising and swelling most of these side effects are generally very mild and go away within the first 24 hours following the actual Restylane injection. Although there has been some reported cases of discoloration and cold sores but these two generally dissipate within a day or so.
What this means is that as compared to the other available fillers, the Restylane injection is by far the safest and produces some of the best results. Although Restylane is fairly new to the cosmetic industry it has already been used on more than a million patients in over 60 countries world wide and of these million patients only two thousand of them have reported any serious side effects. These serious side effects generally include hypersensitivity and tenderness of the injection area but usually go away with a week of the injection and it is also usually limited to the very first treatment only. |
