Restylane first entered into the cosmetic profession back in the mid 1990’s. Although it was not approved by the Food and Drug Administration until just after the turn of the century many people had already enjoyed the luxurious results of Restylane and its many cosmetic uses from lip augmentations to face lifts. Restylane was the first and is still the only non-animal hyaluronic acid filler approved by the FDA for use in the human body. The use of Restylane is as a replacement for the degrading hyaluronic acid in our own skin as a result of old age. Restylane is a clear gelatin injection which has almost no side effects other than the small possibility of swelling after having undergone the first injection procedure.
Restylane gives the skin a lift with volume as well revitalizes the youthfulness of the patient’s skin. Even though Restylane has had well over a million successful procedures it is still considered to be to new to have an average costs associated with the procedure. In general the costs have a lot to do with the location on the face and the amount of filler needed. This treatment is very comparable to that of other similar procedures involving the use of injectible fillers without the worries of the various side effects associated with the animal based hyaluronic acid fillers. Restylane also come in a variety of different forms each that has their own advantages and disadvantages.
Although many people are worried about the fact that the Restylane injection’s results being only temporary since the results only last about 6 months, the good point is as each injection is accomplished, the amount needed to achieve the results lessens. What this means is that the injections could cost about $1,000 each but after having undergone two or three procedures this price could fall down to $600 or less a treatment.
It is important to speak with your surgeon about the possibility of undergoing a Restylane injection as they will be able to give you a better estimate regarding the costs associated with the Restylane injections. |
