Penis Enlargement Surgery

A large erection and a big penis size are considered macho and most men would like to have a suitably impressive penis. Those with small penis can go in for techniques like manual exercises to using medicines and devices like implants. There are many successes and failures in each of these methods and there is no known scientific proof of their effectiveness or otherwise.

Surgical techniques like enhancement phalloplasty for penis lengthening and girth enhancement for penis widening have been in use for many years. Silicone injections into the penis can increase its girth. Silicone is considered safe for the human body and most implants are made of silicone. Surgical techniques used to thicken the penis are more effective than those designed to increase the length. Circumference from 3.1 inches to 4.1 inches has been made possible by injecting silicone or other material. However, these are mostly irreversible and may have side effects like loss of sensation, scarring, deformation or inability to perform. Penis enlargement surgery is done on men with severe medical problems rather than for cosmetic reasons.

Severe penile shaft deformity can be corrected by lipofilling method using autologous tissues. Tissues from the patient himself are taken and used in the operation. This method is considered safe and reliable. It has good results and very low incidence of postoperative complications. It is a relatively permanent cure. Unlike injections of silicone or other substances or implantation of foreign substances, this method leaves no residual foreign tissue around the penis as the body absorbs it.

Approximately one third of the penis is inside the body and attached to the pubic bone. Hence it’s lengthening surgically means cutting the suspensory ligaments to increase the size of the penis. This is not a routine method and may have more risks than normal plastic surgery procedures.
Another surgical method is to use inflatable penile implants and is performed on impotent men. Since it can be manually operated, an erection can be created whenever desired and for longer periods. These male enhancement surgery methods are done within two to three hours and as an outpatient. The recovery, unless there are complications, are normally fast and the patient can even resume work in a few days though he should refrain from having sex for at least six weeks.

However no scientific research supports the use of non surgical methods for enlarging the penis and no medical doctor endorses penis enlargement operations for purely cosmetic reasons.
