Plastic surgery can do wonders. It can do body contouring and body sculpting but it has its limitations. Plastic surgery is a surgical procedure and all such procedures have their own risks. Medical science is not perfect and many times similar operations on different people even by the same surgeon produces different results.
Brow lifts are surgical procedures where wrinkles and worry lines are removed making the patient’s face neat and younger looking. However there are certain non surgical methods which can produce results which are similar to brow lifts. One of them is the increasingly popular Botox injections. Several people are going in for it and improving their looks. They are injections containing small amounts of material called botox which is injected directly into the outer portion (the tail portion) of the eyebrows. This relaxes the muscles that pull down the eyebrows. Generally about four to six units of botox are used for each eyebrow. The effect lasts for a few months and can be then repeated. This is a safe, quick and easy method, quite simple to do and can be done during a casual visit to the doctor’s office. Botox may also be used to soften the lines and wrinkles of the forehead.
Other non surgical methods of brow lift include plucking, shaping, tattooing and penciling the eyebrows into a higher and more appealing position. They reposition the eyebrows in very much the similar manner of a brow lift but without a surgical procedure. These methods are easy, cost very little and can be repeated when necessary. They are however not long lasting and have to be performed more often.
The medi-spa concept of rejuvenation has also become very popular. It consists of treating patients medically in an atmosphere like a spa. The patient does not feel that she is undergoing any treatment. In these medi-spa clinics, plastic surgeons are not present and any doctor present may be a general practitioner. There may not even be a doctor on the premises. These medi-spas specialize in relaxing the patient and thus rejuvenating him, making the lines of his forehead relax.
Sculptra or New-Fill is yet another non surgical treatment done in place of brow lift. It has been in use internationally for the last one decade and 150,000 people in 30 countries are said to have benefited from this treatment. This ‘liquid face lift’ corrects the deepest of creases and wrinkles using biodegradable materials. It is injected into the desired place and it works by stimulating the facial muscles. |
