How Long Does Arm Lift Results Last

An arm lift procedure can improve one’s upper arm considerably. Excessive weight loss and aging can cause our upper arm to have loose skin. The flabby and sagging part of our skin depends on how much weight we shredded and how old we are. The reshaping of one’s arm is a significant change indeed. It can also be accompanied by a liposuction procedure if there are some unwanted fats in your upper arm area which you wanted to eliminate. You will no longer be subjected to wearing long sleeved shirts to hide those unwanted arms. The newly found freedom after a brachioplasty is indeed exhilarating.

So how long do arm lift results last exactly? You can permanently benefit from your brachioplasty results as long as you keep eating healthy and exercise regularly. By managing your weight and getting plenty of exercise, you will no longer have any problems with flabby loose arms again. However, if natural aging keeps up with your physical appearance, a little sagging of the skin is inevitable.

Upon your first visit with your doctor, your upper arms are to be examined to determine how much loose skin needs to be removed. If you only have a mild loose skin, the incision will only be placed in your underarm area. Otherwise, the incision for the arm lift procedure is made starting from the underarm area down to your elbow on the inside of your upper arm.

Your plastic surgeon will also ask you some series of questions regarding your medical history, the current medications you’re taking, both herbal supplements and prescription medicines, and the level of your tobacco and alcohol usage. Knowing all this crucial information is much needed so that your doctor can determine whether or not you’re a good candidate for an arm lift procedure.

After your surgery, you can immediately go home since an arm lift procedure is considered an outpatient basis. You can resume taking a shower or bath two to three days after your surgery. You can also get back to work one to three weeks after the procedure depending on how you feel. As soon as you feel comfortable enough, you can start driving. Any strenuous activity like exercise should be resumed six weeks after the surgery to avoid any complications in your incisions. Your scars will start to fade several months after your surgery and will take about a year for it to be unrecognizable.
