Women with a small bustline or those whose breasts sag or those who have had to remove their breasts surgically may go in for breast implants. This is a fairly common procedure and thousands have got a better and more beautiful figure by this method. Breast implants consist of inserting a breast like material in the breast which enhances the size and shape of the bust and gives the owner a better bust profile.
Puberty in girls results in the formation of breasts along with other bodily matter like pubic hair, hips, and the onset of menstruation. But breasts are not often to the liking of the owners. They may want a bigger breast size or a better shape. Breast implants give them the opportunity to have breasts the size and shape they want. It is almost like breasts made to order.
Breast implants are now of two kinds. A shell made of silicone is made and saline or silicone gel is put into it and inserted in the breasts to give a better look. High strength gel is a form of silicone which is semi solid. If tried to cut, it is like cutting gummy bear and hence this type of implant which uses this gel is called the gummy bear breast implant. When this gummy bear is cut, it does not lose shape nor does it leak, thus making it an almost perfect implant gel.
Gummy bear is soft and has a natural touch and feeling. When inserted in the breast it gives the breast a very natural look. It maintains its shape and does not settle down, leak or fold. Also if the silicone bag or shell in which it is put breaks, gummy bear implants do not leak but stay in its place.
Silicone gels were considered good for implants but there was a ban on them (now lifted) and in its place gummy bear was found to be a better choice. It does not cause any reaction or rejection, does not cause inflammation or scarring in the surrounding breast tissues.
There are many women who are opting for this type of implant and there are many doctors who feel that this is the ideal solution to breast implants. Cohesive gel implants or gummy bear implants are now used extensively in Brazil and Europe and is being considered in the US.
