The breasts of a woman are one the most crucial parts that completes the ideal hour glass figure. A lot of women are not satisfied with the natural size and shape of their breasts which can be caused by genetics. Other unsatisfied older women are those who have reduced or drooped breasts after having children. These groups of women are considering having a breast augmentation procedure. The breast augmentation procedure involves using implants, injectables, and newer methods like fat transfer. The fat transfer procedure in breast augmentation is the only method which uses 100% natural material and the least dangerous method of all.
Fat transfer procedures only use extracted fat from the patient’s body. This basic concept is also applied in the augmentation of breasts using the patient’s very own fat, which can be harvested from fat accumulating body parts such as thighs, abdomen, buttocks, and hips. The fat is carefully removed by liposuction technique, washed and processed to remove impurities before the injection process. The amount of fat to be injected into each breast is carefully measured to achieve the same increase in each breast’s volume.
Tiny incisions are made under each breast for the next procedure. The fat extracted is then injected evenly into the breast muscle and tissue carefully observing the breast shape being formed. A little more fat is injected because the body will be absorbing at least 30% of the total injected fat. The remaining 70% of the volume injected will remain in the breast. The incision under each breast will then be closed by one stitch which can be removed a week after the procedure.
The breast augmentation using fat transfer will result in increase of bust volume by about a cup size. This is not suitable for women who wanted to have much larger breasts. Swelling, numbness, and bruising may be present a few days following the procedure. Other risk involved with this procedure is the possibility of the formation of calcified lumps from the injected fat. These lumps may mask breast cancer or prevent the detection of this life threatening disease.
However, with monitored mammograms, the doctors will be able to determine whether there is a malignant cyst in the breast of patient who has undergone the breast fat transfer procedure. According to doctors, there is much higher risk of developing breast cancer when other forms of breast augmentation are used as compared to the fat transfer approach of breast augmentation. |
