Buttock lifts can be performed by a surgeon in combination with other liposuction procedures or as a stand alone procedure. As we age, the body suffers. There can be sagging of skin and deposit of cellulite or fat in the body even for those who are quite slim. Buttock lifts counters these age related problems and removes the cellulite deposits.
The ideal person for those who undergo butt lifts is a person who has sagging skin on the buttocks and has some cellulite deposits. Most people are aware of the abdomen lift and neck lift, but buttock lift is hardly done as people feel that the area is hardly visible. A buttock lift is not a liposuction procedure but can incorporate the liposuction procedure. There is an incision made just above the buttocks. It will heal in time and can be hid very well with good fitting innerwear available in the market.
Medical conditions and allergies should be communicated to the surgeon. The operation is not an alternative for weight reduction; rather it’s for providing youthful look to the body. It provides a great contour and tone to the buttock. When the patient decides to undergo the operation, then the consulting surgeon will ask for the complete medical history of the patient. Medical conditions such as asthma, diabetes, hypertension etc should be communicated as should the history of smoking be communicated. The patient should also communicate any known allergies to medication and food. The current weight and height of the patient should also be recorded. The doctor will show the patient where the incision will be made.
Before the surgery the surgeon may ask you to stop taking some medications that may lead to bleeding. The patient can also be advised on the areas where the operation will be done. You can opt for liposuction of the abdomen, inner thigh, outer thighs in addition to getting the buttock lift done. As a precautionary measure, the surgeon will ask you to stop eating and drinking at least 12 hours before the operation is scheduled. No perfume or jewellery should be worn and clothing should be loose and easily washable in case it gets soiled. The patient should make arrangement for an adult to drive them home and stay with them for at least 24 hours after the operation is over.
The operation takes 2 hours for a buttock lift, but combined with other parts of the body can take as much as 4-6 hours. Local anesthesia is used and the patient can be discharged the same day from the medical facility. Swelling and bruising is seen, but that is countered with medication. Within a week a patient can join back work if they wish to.
