Breast Implants Gone Wrong


Women down the ages have been dissatisfied with the appearance of their own breasts. They feel that the grass is greener on the other side of the fence and may want their breasts to look like those of their friends or rivals or any other woman they admire. Of course breast implants are cosmetic surgeries however there may be times when the procedure is done out of necessity due to some medical reason. However, when pills, lotions and potions, exercises and other natural methods fail to make any change they may opt for breast implants.

Puberty which causes major changes in a girl’s body and her glands and secretions make her breasts grow, they depend a lot on heredity, body structure, fat deposits and the like. A surgeon can only reinforce what already exists, in case of cosmetic breast implants, or may create totally new breasts in case of breast removal surgery on medical grounds. Though the procedure is simple, taking just a couple of hours, there could be certain effects which may be unsuitable to the patients.

The implant used may cause allergy or cause discomfort or pain. It may lead to hardening of the breasts which could lead to a mastectomy in extreme cases or a reversal of the breast implant procedure. Or if the implant used is of inferior quality, it may result in leakage or rupture of the breast implant liquid. If the implant liquid is saline or salt water, it will be absorbed by the body, leaving the breasts sagging or wrinkled, out of shape or not pleasing to the eye.

Though patients who have undergone the breast implant surgery have had relatively less complaints and have been satisfied with the implants, there have been cases where the breast implants gone wrong. Though bleeding, edema or swelling is generally not a result of the procedure and its recovery, a few cases here and there have these complaints. Therefore in order to avoid the possibility of having a botched implant it is best that full medical assessment is made by a true professional who would be in the best position to give you the best advice.
