Botox Injection For Wrinkles

Botox, while not actually capable of getting rid of the fine lines or sagging skin, it does a great job for those who are starting to notice the signs of aging through wrinkles that resist the effects of time. Botox is a lab created variation botulinum toxin which is produced from the Clostridium botulinum bacteria. There are 7 different types of this neurotoxin of which only two, type A and B are used in the medical treatment of cosmetics. All of the botulinum toxins serve one purpose which is to paralyze the muscle tissue by interrupting the signals from the nerves. When a person is injected with Botox, their muscles become paralyzed in such a way that they stay in a relaxed state. Since most early developed wrinkles are caused from the muscle contractions of the face, when these certain muscles are kept in a relaxed state then the wrinkles cause be them too are relaxed.

The procedure of the Botox injection for wrinkles starts with the consultation with the surgeon. It is at this point that you and the surgeon will sit down and discuss you options regarding this treatment. The surgeon will explain what he or she can remedy with the use of a Botox injection as well as what the neurotoxin cannot fix. From this point you will need to make a decision concerning which affected areas you ant to treat. The surgeon will do a short examination to help with the decision of which muscle groups need to be treated with how much Botox in order to achieve the desired results.

Once this pre examination procedure is complete, the surgeon will carefully inject the Botox into the wrinkle troubled areas, directly in to the muscles so as to prevent the migration of the Botox neurotoxin into other muscles. Should the Botox migrate there is a chance that the wrong muscles could get paralyzed and become unresponsive.

After all the injections have been completed, the recovery period will start but will only last a couple minutes. It is in this time period that the surgeon will have you do a couple different facial exercises to determine if the muscles received the amount needed to produce the desired results. After all of this is done, so is the recovery and you can even go straight back to work.
